Hibla is a Filipino bold movie starring Maui Taylor, Ricky Davao, Rica Peralejo, Antonio Aquitania, Tina Monasterio, Renato Del Prado, Mel Kimura, Joey Padilla, Ma. Arthesa Borja and Wendy Hunter

Isabel (Rica) and Clara (Maui) are two childhood friends separated by fate. Isabel is a naive provincial lass who works as an indigenous fabric weaver, while Clara is the liberated city girl. Clara has gone wild after her mother runs off with another man. The two meet after years of separation when Clara returns to the barrio to visit her father, Roman (Ricky Davao). But their cultural difference further separates them as Lando (Antonio Aquitania), Isabel's boyfriend, enters into the picture. Lando, frustrated with Isabel's conservatism and idealism, turns his attention to Clara, which irks Isabel. Isabel, in turn, seduces Clara's father. Lando, after knowing the situation, attempts to kill Roman.

The role of Isabel was supposedly intended for Assunta de Rossi. Assunta was loaned by Regal Films to Viva Films for the film. But she declined the invitation to do the movie after her boyfriend, a then congressman, stopped her from appearing in the movie.
