Born in Davao, Juliana was raised in the United States. She won the local beauty search Miss Kadayawan. In 2002, she was crowned Mutya ng Davao. Juliana said she left Davao for Manila hoping to join the nationwide Binibining Pilipinas pageant but the organizers of the said pageant rejected her because of her sexy pictorials.
