Bacolod sex scandals
Bacolod Teacher Sex Scandal, 2008 - A video allegedly involving a male public school teacher and his former female student in Victorias City is now proliferating through cellular phones and pirated CDs that are being sold in some parts of Negros Occidental. The video reportedly shows the man engaged in a sexual act with the woman. Superintendent Rizalino Tortosa of the Negros Occidental Schools Division of the department of Education (DepEd) said that his office will investigate the matter. If proven that the man in the video is indeed a public school teacher, Tortosa said he will "impose the maximum penalty on him for committing such immoral and unethical act."
In 2007, an intelligence officer of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) found himself in "hot water" for recording sex acts inside the police barracks at Camp Alfredo Montelibano, Sr. in Camingan, Bacolod. The officer can be seen with his lady partner in "explicit" sexual acts inside the cop's barracks.
In 2006, Bacolod City was grappling with a serious problem of children engaging and videotaping their sexual encounters. Carla Gomez of the Visayan Daily Star wrote about the "Sex Scandal" craze then gripping Bacolod City. The videos proliferating in Bacolod did not just involve two high school sweethearts having sex. One parent who found a sex video on her daughter's cellular phone was scandalized to see 8 to 9 high school girls (aged 14 to 16 years old) performing sexual acts together.
In 2005, a local beauty queen and a male student from La Salle were seen on a sex tape. The boyfriend's camera was stolen from his car. Aside from being a former Lin-ay sang Nergros finalist turned runner-up in the Mutya ng Pilipinas, the Bacolena is an only daughter of a wealthy couple in Bacolod City. Her father is a businessman who stays in Metro Manila. The "star" is also one of the models of a cigarette brand in Western Visayas.
At any given month, there are "new" amateur sex videos being "released" through text messaging and as any "Pinay Sex Scandal" voyeur would attest to, a lot of the sex videos circulating in the Philippines today come from Bacolod City. City government and local church officials are hard put to explain why some of their children engage in scandalous and exhibitionist sexual behaviour. Moralists blame media and the internet for giving our youth the wrong messages. They cite, for instance, the case of American heiress Paris Hilton who was able to parlay her sex video notoriety into a lucrative showbiz career.
